Ladies In Property announce fifth networking event

16th March 2017

The Ladies in Property Suffolk (LiPS) group have announced a fifth networking event to be held Tuesday May 16 at Wherstead Park in Ipswich from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

The LiPS group was created by Jacqueline Cumiskey, an employee at Concertus Design and Property Consultants, who wanted to provide a networking space for women in the construction industry and give them the opportunity to form strategic business relationships and alliances.

Since the first event in June 2015, there have been four other events and each event has been attended by over 60 women and continues to grow.

All women working in the construction, properly, land, and facilities management sector are welcome and invited to attend the event.

Three inspirational people will be presenting: Lesley Frost of Wherstead Park Events, Roy Emmerson from HeliDrone Surveys Ltd., and Helen Rudd, Founder of Prominent PR.

Organiser Jac Cumiskey said, “In recent months, it has become extremely important that women in an industry dominated by men be given the opportunity to network and unite with other women to grow in this industry. We are so fortunate to be able to provide this to them and that women feel benefited by attending our events.”

The goal of LiPS is to continuously provide regular networking events, promote roles in the industry to young female women, and support the national campaign #NotJustForBoys, which began in 2015. Currently, the Office for National Statistics found that only 11 percent of the construction workforce are women.

“We want to continue to reach out to young women and help give them the courage to break from gender roles. We cannot believe that we have come this far and look forward to sharing this evening with all who attend.”

The event is free to attend and there will be light refreshments sponsored by HeliDrone surveys as well as plenty of time for networking and socialising.
