Ladies in Property Suffolk gather for 5th time.

26th May 2017

More than 60 women gathered at Wherstead Park for the fifth networking event for The Ladies in Property Suffolk.

Representatives from the property, construction and facilities management industries enjoyed canapes and drinks at the reception, which was held in Ipswich on Tuesday 16th May.

Three women were invited to speak to the guests on issues affecting the construction sector.

They included Helen Rudd, managing director at Prominent PR, Lesley Frost of Wherstead Park events and Roy Emmerson from HeliDrone Surveys Ltd.

Jacqueline Cumiskey, an employee at Concertus Design and Property Consultants, who created the LiPS group, said: “It’s so exciting to see the networking group continue to grow year on year. It will always be extremely important to give women in these industries the opportunity to network together regularly and hope that they feel like these events benefit them all”.

The LiPS networking space is designed to support women in the construction industry and give them the opportunity to form strategic business relationships and alliances.

LiPS provide regular networking events, promote roles in the industry to young female women, and support the national campaign #NotJustForBoys, which began in 2015.

Currently, the Office for National Statistics found that only 11 percent of the construction workforce are women.
